Make ahead. Needs to mellow.

Use a lidded container large enough to hold a full teakettle of water. Measure about 1 cup of sugar into container. Pour boiling water over sugar and stir until dissolved. Add 8 teabags. (I use black tea but use your favorite.) Cover loosely and let tea cool to room temperature. Do not add cold water or ice. Leave tea bags in the container and refrigerate until cold.

NOTE: Tea made this way is not very good hot or warm with ice but it tastes great after it gets cold in the fridge.
